Characters in the Network
Within the framework of an Integrated Urban Development Concept (ISEC)
for the City of Neustrelitz a structural concept for the open space
in the section of Kiefernheide is drawn up. It provides an overall view
of the space potential, suggests a concept on how to deal with the open
space and supplies design proposals, which permit the integration into
already existing plans. The structure of the Kiefernheide open spaces
is characterized by heterogeneity. Public places, semi-public courtyards
and private gardens, urban waste and undefined remainders, parking lots
and various transitional spaces intermingle. At first sight, the situation
may appear confusing, but it has a decisive potential: the coexistence
of the open spaces becomes particularly attractive if the different
characters are distinctively elaborated.
Especially three subspaces were rearranged in multiple construction
sections.
